It's been a long..long time, but I finaly got around to updating the links on my home page. I also refreshed the links on my astronomy page. Added a button to link to my twitter page. And removed the Opensolaris [RIP :-(] link image.
Added an 'openSolaris™ <enthusiast>' button link to my home page, and also a 'LinkedIn' profile button. Also created a 'solaris' page for quite access to my most frequent links.
Replaced the link to my 'start' page, with a link to my blog on Blogger's BlogSpot. Also added a link to 'newspaper' site "thefirstpost" - nice.
Add login links for Gradwell & Network Solutions to my 'Internet' page. Remove Sky from my 'Motor Racing' page as they are not giving a consistent service.
Changed the Blog links on my main page to these individuals - John Howard, Dick Morrell, Ben Rockwood and Mark Russinovich. Plus swapped around the columns's for the Blogs and the OS sections.
Added links for OpenSwan & strongSwan to my 'netsecure' page, and also removed afew dead links.
Updated some of the links on my radio page, like those for G4CCH and G4KLX.
Did an export of my del.icio.us links to a .htm page and linked this from my home page, so that the search-bots can make use of it. Plus, it will be handy if the del.icio.us server is down.
Added links on my Microsoft page for DPM & ISA. On my NetSecure page, undated the Smoothwall links, and added a link to their community forums.
Add link to 'Gmail' from my home page.
Freshened some of the links on my 'nigel' page, especially the links to Swedish cities.
On my home page, added links to Google Maps, Google Sitemaps, ebay and paypal, in a new links area, directly to the right of the page counter.
Finally got around to creating a 'robots.txt' file for this site, and have spinkled afew 'meta name="robots" content="index,follow"' in the head of some pages. Let's see what googlebot makes of them!

Added links to 'Planet-F1' and the 'start.com' portal.
And finally...after years of preparation...(why did it take so long!?) the Nigel Smith web site is up & running on a new server (running Apache) with my own hand crafted 'httpd.conf'. I've also setup webalizer so I should be able to see if anyone is visiting this site. Hopefully this will allow me to update the contents more frequently. And get it so Google and Msn index it again, as this was broken with the old hosting situation.

Added a link to msn's new search engine, next to the google link on my home page. Updated the link to 'kernel-traffic' (at last) on my linux page. On my book page, added a link to 'BookBrain' for Annette.
Added links to my del.icio.us page, as I'm adding most of my new links onto there. Plus added links for the a9.com search, and Msdn's channel-9.
Adjusted my CSS, so that my pages look good in both Firefox and IE. The CSS still needs tidying up when I have more time! Added a link to the 'Lineox' distribution and to David Allan's 'The Science of Timekeeping'.
Swapped from google.com's advanced search apge to using google.co.uk's home page. Added link's to ps2pdf On my Linux pages, added a link to 'Ubuntu', 'Fedora Legacy', and removed some old RedHat links. On my Internet page, added links to ClamAV, BitDefender, Zebra, Quagga. On my hardware page, added links to 'dvdplusrw.org', 'cdrinfo.com' and 'dvdwriters.co.uk'. Updapted the links on my 'Windows' page. Updapted the links on my 'other Operating Systems' page.
Add links to 'The Inquirer', 'Wikipedia', 'WinSuperSite', 'Neowin.net'. On my Microsoft page, added links to 'Microsoft Community Blogs' and other blogs and generaly updated things.
I'm having a look at making this web site 'standards compliant'. So to give it a try, I have converted this page to 'xhtml 1.0 strict' and added the w3c logo to the bottom of the page, which links to their validation service. I've had to play around with the CSS a little bit, and learn some new tricks. I may convert some more of the site, if I decide I'm happy with what I've done. I'm not yet convinced of the benefits of this xhtml & standards compliance!
Also updated the main page to correct the link to Dick Morrell's Blog which is back online.

Updated my 'The Internet' page with a couple of new tools that show whats information you release as you surf the web + reset the Demon tools link + found the gopher again - he had moved.
On the Linux page added links to OpenNA Linux, RpmFind, Linux.box, Linux-MM.
After months of no changes its time for a big-ish update. I've checked though many of the links and updated the faulty ones and added new one. I've added a 'What New' page, so I can record the progress of this site. I've added a page of links on 'Wireless networking'. Many new 'Linux' links. I've consolidated some of the 'Operating System' pages into one, as there were not enough links to justify seperate pages for them.
